UCN Scholarships for Non-European to Study in Denmark – Each year UCN awards a number of tuition fee scholarships to highly-qualified non-European/non-EEA applicants. The scholarship provides a reduction on the tuition fees for the entire duration of the study program. This scholarship application is open for all interested candidate who want to study abroad.
We have outlined the application process for you in this article for easy registration. Meanwhile, you have to gather all the necessary documents such as your BSC, Nativity, International Passport, Transcript, etc. All these documents is to make sure that proper documentation is done before travelling to Denmark.
How to get entry to Denmark
Important information for international students
A political agreement has been reached on rules and restrictions on travels into and out of Denmark. The political agreement will enter into force from 21 April 2021.This means that students travelling from yellow and orange countries can now enter Denmark again. However, the colour of your country will affect the requirements relating to your entry to Denmark. Please check the colour of your country here.
Documentation of worthy purpose for entering Denmark
International UCN students who want to enter Denmark may need documentation to prove that UCN is physically open. For that reason, UCN has prepared a personal document for all international students to show on request as documentary evidence of their worthy purpose when entering Denmark. It is important that students bring either a printed or a digital copy of the document when they want to enter Denmark.
- Current international students will have received the document in their UCN inbox.
- Incoming exchange students will have received the document through MoveOn.
The document states that if the Danish authorities have any questions about the document, the authorities should call UCN where we will be ready to help.

If you do not have residence in Denmark, you can read more about entry on the Danish Police’s website: Foreigners habitually resident abroad. On the website, you can read about required documentation and what you have to do after arriving in Denmark. It is crucial that you check the official website as all countries will be assigned a colour by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark on a weekly basis. Your travel is dependent on the colour when entering Denmark. Please note that you are required to present a negative Covid-19 test taken no more than 24hrs before boarding the plane to or entering Denmark.

English language requirements
At UCN you are expected to participate actively in class discussions as well as group work and projects. You must also be able to write academic papers and take written and oral exams. Therefore, you must have a high level of English proficiency.
This means that you must have English language qualifications comparable to the English B level from the Danish upper secondary school (gymnasium) and you must have a final grade of minimum 3.0 on the Danish grading scale. In order to live up to this, you must have had a minimum of 210 hours of lessons in English (1 lesson = 60 minutes) during the final 3 years of your secondary education. Additionally, it is also mandatory to attach one of the English tests that UCN accepts.
We do not accept “Kompetencebeviser” from e.g. VUC in Denmark instead of an English test.
If you have studied or lived in the UK/USA or another English-speaking country (except for native speakers), please note that you must take and pass one of the English tests that are mentioned below on this webpage – Which English tests does UCN accept.
Based on a professional assessment UCN can decide that we need further documentation regarding your English skills, either by you obtaining extra documentation or by you participating in an interview conducted in English.
Which English tests does UCN accept?
All applicants holding a foreign entrance examination and applying for English-taught programmes must document their English language qualifications with one of the below mentioned English tests.
Please note that we will not accept English tests that are older than 2 years.
IELTS
- Overall score of minimum 6.5
TOEFL iBT + TOEFL iBT Home Edition
- A minimum score of 83
- UCN’s TOEFL code is 7294
Cambridge ESOL examinations
- C1 Advanced (formerly known as Cambridge English Advanced – CAE): grade C, B or A
- C2 Proficiency (formerly known as Cambridge English Proficiency – CPE): grade, C, B or A
- B2 First (formerly known as Cambridge English First – FCE): grade A
- A minimum score of 58
Oxford Online Placement Test
- Overall score of minimum 75 and also a minimum score of 75 in each subtest
- You are only allowed to use 60 minutes when taking the test
- Please note that this test is only valid if taken via a UCN partner organisation
Other CEFR-comparable English tests with a borderline score of B2/C1
- It is the applicant’s responsibility to document this level from a CEFR-validated English language course
